The striker pattern on the side of a matchbox serves as the inspiration for the visual identity we developed for the Midtown Arts and Theater Center, Houston, a contemporary venue with multiple spaces available for shows of all kinds. The system was expanded through analog + digital signage, wayfinding, supergraphics, artistic programmable projections, and donor recognition systems.
MATCH’s unique, multi-purpose venues with programming both day and night everyday through the year, called for a versatile system for arts organizations to promote their performances efficiently, rapidly, inexpensively, and democratically. Nine programmable monitors act as digital signage, employing color-coding and typographic standards, that meet the needs of an ever-changing schedule of events.
