Louisiana Art & Science Museum – Periodic Table Exhibit

The Periodic Table of Elements can be a very abstract and complex system to understand. It is truly awe-inspiring to think that within the 118 elements are the building blocks of all matter and things in the universe. CORE’s goal was to create a periodic table exhibit that is accessible and engaging to visitors. Illuminating, quite literally, how it is classified, its history and how it relates to things in our everyday lives.

The Louisiana Art & Science Museum (LASM) is expanding their exhibits focusing on STEM with this interactive periodic table as a cornerstone in their newly renovated hall.

CORE was responsible for all aspects of its concept, content development, design, programming, fabrication, and installation.

This periodic table dramatically illustrates the element classifications through color-coding into its associated groups, such as metals, gases, and solids, and their subcategories.

One feature of LASM is their planetarium. We created a “celestial bodies” section in our interactive that gives the elemental composition of each of these stellar bodies.
